Born a writer and raised on a farm, my primary objective is to tell stories and preserve history through publishing, family agriculture and other creative venues: together with Briana Dwire, I founded the Laurel Mountain Post in 2004.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism (1991) and a Master's Degree in English Literature (1992) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and spent 13 years practicing nonprofit and corporate communications in Raleigh, North Carolina before returning home to Pennsylvania in late 2007.
I am the proud mother of Elizabeth Srsic (24) and Robert Williams (16). My daughter is currently a graduate student in Art History at the University of Texas in Austin, working on a dual MA/PhD. My son is a sophomore at Derry Area Senior High School who enjoys digital media, volleyball and creative projects and plans on a career in film.
In 2010 I married my best friend (we met way back in college), and we now own my family estate, Fairview Farm in Derry, PA. Future plans/ideas include a winery, community gardens, and other agricultural rejuvenations.
